Masson's Trichrome Staining Kit, also known as Masson Staining Kit, Connective Tissue Stain Kit, Trichrome Stain Kit (or Trichromic Staining Kit), or Masson-Goldner Staining Kit, is a reagent that uses a classic method to stain cell nuclei simply, efficiently, and sensitively while selectively staining collagen fibers and muscle fibers. This kit is suitable for both paraffin-embedded and frozen tissue sections.
Masson trichrome stain, also known as Masson's stain, is the most classic method for staining connective tissue. It is an authoritative and established technique for distinguishing collagen fibers from muscle fibers, playing a critical role in histological research and pathological diagnosis. Collagen fibers, formed by the specialized arrangement of collagen proteins, provide essential structural support and tensile strength. They are a primary component of many tissues, particularly abundant in connective tissue. Muscle fibers contain myosin and myofibrils, responsible for muscle contraction and movement. Tissue cell injury caused by various factors can lead to degeneration, necrosis, and inflammation. While minor injuries may allow for complete recovery of structure and function, severe damage often results in fibrosis (Fibrosis)—a process where excessive fibrous tissue proliferates to fill defects but fails to restore normal structure or function. Masson staining enables the analysis of collagen fiber quantity and distribution within tissues to assess the degree of fibrosis. It aids in differentiating inflammatory cells and inflammation-related fibrotic changes, and reveals fibrous tissue reactions and structures around or within tumors, assisting in the determination and diagnosis of tumor type and grade.
This kit includes all necessary components for Masson staining: hematoxylin stain, acid differentiation solution, ponceau-acid fuchsin stain, light green stain, and phosphotungstic-molybdic acid differentiation solution. Users only need to prepare ethanol solutions of various concentrations to complete the entire experiment.
